English term

genetic counselor

English to Romanian Medical Medical (general) epilepsie
"If the doctor feels it is appropriate, they may arrange referral to a genetic counsellor."

Ce am gasit eu:
1. genetic counseling:
The counseling of individuals, and of prospective parents regarding their offspring, on the probabilities, dangers, diagnosis, and treatment of inherited diseases.

2. A genetic counsellor is a health professional, probably with a nursing background, who works for a genetic counselling service. Genetic counselling is a health service that tests, advises and counsels people at risk from a genetic disorder and in particular prospective parents on any genetic disorder that they could pass on to their children.

The role of the genetic counsellor is to provide individuals and families with information about genetic conditions and the management of these conditions. They are likely to work in a team reporting to a consultant geneticist, who would make a diagnosis and to work with other health professionals, such as paediatricians, to construct and interpret a family history in order to determine the likelihood that a future or unborn child will suffer from a particular genetic disorder known to occur in the family. They will arrange any blood tests and other tests arising from their investigation.

It is also part of their job to help individuals come to terms with the psychosocial and emotional issues arising from their situation and to provide information about the available medical and social support."

Dupa o cautare Google, am gasit doar 2 documente in lb. RO in care apare termenul de "consilier genetic". :( Parca suna ciudat.... "consilier in probleme de genetica" poate?

in FR e "conseiller génétique" (Grand Dictionnaire)

medic genetician, specialist in genetica

Este o specializare in medicina.
Nu i-as spune consultant, ci l-as lasa medic, sau specialist. Consultatia genetica insa suna bine.

Am verificat pe Google si am gasit notiunea corecta in romaneste: medic genetician.
Note from asker:
Nu vreau sa-l fac in RO medic specialist cand in EN e "counselor, probably with nursing background"...
Peer comment(s):
