Where parties act together in a contract as partners they have joint and several liability. In addition to all the partners being responsible together, each partner is also liable individually for the entire contract - so a creditor could recover a whole debt from any one of them individually, leaving that person to recover their shares from the rest of the partners.

e expresie cu formă fixă Toată structura este expresie cu formă fixă, care în română poate părea chiar pleonastică, dar aşa s-a fixat în engleză; şi joint şi several se referă la acelaşi lucru, la solidar; several, cum zice şi Lee, nu înseamnă individual, de asta nu are dece să fie adăugat la răspuns şi individual. Plus că în contextul de faţă e clar că partenerii contractuali răspund în solidar. Şi atunci nu are cum să fie răspunderea lor în acelaşi timp şi solidară şi individuală; ori una, ori alta, amândouă deodată nu se poate. De asta zic că sigur-sigur e bine asa cum a răspuns Veronica: răspundere solidară, atât, nu şi individuală.

individual in limba romana ordinea este inversa , raspundere individual (several) si in solidar(joint)

joint "joint" nu inseamna "individual" din raspunsul lui Mihai, dar daca asa se foloseste termenul in RO, e OK

Raspunderea solidara este incopatibila cu raspunderea materiala, care are un caracter personal, însa ea poate interveni în mod exceptional, când fapta ilicita prin care s-a cauzat prejudiciul angajatorului constituie infractiune si a fost savârsita de mai multe persoane împreuna.
