cap Yes, I understand it as setting a limit on the abnormal current, i.e. cutting it back to normal to avoid damage to the motor. There must be a value already established that is the threshold between normal and abnormal current. Electric motors can work safely up to a given amperage. Above this value, the current is abnormally (and dangerously) high and needs to be reduced.
