English term or phrase:
gastroschisis
Japanese translation:
腹壁破裂
English term
gastroschisis
In addition, the intestine always fails to fall into its normal position and does not make its normal attachments to the back of the abdomen. In contrast to infants with omphalocele, associated problems are relatively rare in patients with gastroschisis. (American Pediatric Surgical Association)
The diagnosis of gastroschisis is usually made by ultrasound, in many cases following an elevated maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein test in the second trimester. (The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia)
Gastroschisis is an uncommon birth defect, seen in about 1 of 5,000 births. Although about 10% of infants with gastroschisis have an intestinal atresia in which a portion of the intestine does not develop, the defect is rarely associated with other genetic abnormalities. (Cincinnati Children's Hosp. Med. Center)

I did see a couple of discussions, promotor being one suggestion. I am wondering about "seller", but exploitant can also mean "user" as in health care users like hospitals, it's tricky in English. |
None that I found seemed exactly what I needed and I felt I needed further clarification in order to provide a reliable translation for my client, sorry to have annoyed you Phil. I do always look to Proz before posting a query. |
Thanks so much, I got told off by one of the answerers because it has been posted as a question before but I didn't see this link in the other answers, maybe I just missed it somehow, but this was precisely what is meant, clearly :) |
