English term

lack of infringement

English to German Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) trial site contract
The institution makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or lack of infringement of third party intellectual property rights of the study results or any invention or product arising from the study.

I do understand "infringement of property rights" but I have my pronblems with "lack of infringement". It doesn't make any sense to me and I suppose it's term typical for contracts. Anyboday has an idea?

Thanks a lot in advance!
