English term or phrase:
crossover cable
German translation:
Crossover-Kabel
English term
crossover cable
Compared to standard Ethernet cables, the internal wiring of Ethernet crossover cables reverses the transmit and receive signals. (About.com: Wireless / Networking)
Ethernet crossover cables are commonly used for temporarily networking two devices in the absence of a network router, switch or hub. (TechFAQ)
Both 10BASE-T and 100BASE-T use the same pins, a crossover cable made for one will also work with the other. (MakeItSimple.com)

Proposed translations
Crossover-Kabel
It can't be your version, because you haven't used any hyphens and it's ambiguous. |
Thanks for reply. I`ve read it again this morning and in fact happy with the original. The translated text keeps changing from for example 1th order fractal to Order 1 fractal and so on. Looking at it with fresh eyes does help. |
what exactly is the "order" of the fractal in your text. In practical terms, fractals are approximated by being calculated by iterations => so - most likely - a fractal of the "order Z" would be the fractal as it appears at the iteration number Z. IOW "la fractale d'ordre Z final" would be the fractal as generated in the last iteration number Z, when the calculation gets stopped because there is no need for more precise calculation any longer - the drawing of the fractal is good enough to be "fit for purpose". A fractal is not like a triangle or a square, it can NEVER be drawn or calculated accurately - it's a infinite calculation that for practical purposes must be stopped at some point. A bit like calculating the value of Pi. "the final Z-order fractal" => the fractal that of the "order Z" that is also the final one (after which the calculation stopped) sounds fine to me (even if some other kind of "order" is meant). |
Thanks for your input. Client has just confirmed the following: fractal O1 of order 1. |
Hi, Would you like to contact me by e-mail please? thank you, chris. |
