***Faculty Lead for Continuing Professional Development***
Applications are invited from Members and Fellows of the Faculty of Clinical Oncology of the Royal College of Radiologists for the appointment of the Faculty Lead for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). ***This is a newly established role, which formalises, extends and replaces the current role of CPD Director. This alteration of approach and emphasis is in response to the changing and extending nature of CPD activities and the more defined role and place that CPD holds as a consequence of the GMC's introduction of formal revalidation, recertification and relicensing. The appointee will be tasked with undertaking a wide ranging review of the existing CPD scheme, making recommendations for its modification and overseeing the development and implementation of these, as well as for contributing to the ongoing conduct of the current CPD scheme.
The CPD Lead will be appointed by the Education Board on the basis of recommendations made to it by an assessment panel. The term of office for the Faculty CPD Lead will be four years.***

Applicants must
• be current Members or Fellows of the Royal College of Radiologists
• be consultant clinical oncologists practising within the NHS
• be able to demonstrate an interest in education and CPD
• have an interest in the relationship of CPD to revalidation and training
• have time to undertake the roles and responsibilities described in the attached terms of reference
• have time to attend relevant formal meetings, which will include
- the Education Board: full day held three times a year
- the College's Recertification Committee: half-day held about four times a year
- the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges' Directors of CPD meetings: half-day held three times a year. "
