English to French Science Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)

Bonjour,

je ne trouve pas le mot "juste" pour traduire "expand" dans la phrase suivante. Je trouve que "étendre" ou "developper" ne sonnent pas bien, et j'aimerais bien trouver le bon terme car le terme est employé plusieurs fois dans mon texte.
Auriez-vous une idée ?
