English term
Oar

Before you post your answer, I would like to draw your attention to the difference between oar and paddle,
oar is fixed in the oarlock at the side of a boat, we row with oars
paddle is held by the paddler, which is not fixed, we paddle with a paddle.
as far as I know, in Arabic, it seems to me that both of them are called مجداف
Is this the case? or can we distinguish them in Arabic by two different names as we do in English?
Thanks in advance!

Comment: "thanks for confirming that in Arabic both oar and paddle are called مجداف , however مجداف ثابت doesn't distinguish oar from paddle . Thanks again."
