Context Hi GilleR,
Hesham is right. It depends who/what is hitting bottom. Is it a person who, after a tragic incident, has hit bottom psychologically/phisically, shares in the stock market or someone who hit bottom morally. It would make a lot of difference in Arabic.
Hesham Elshahed Nov 20, 2009:
Arabic 101 Unlike other languages, translating terms into Arabic, in some situations, can be complex. In those situations, it all depends on who, how, what, when, etc. I believe your term here may need to come out of the darkness and look at the bright sun shine.

general definition as in:
"to reach the worst or lowest point"

Hesham Elshahed Nov 20, 2009:
Subject???? it all depends on the subject that you're talking about.
If this would be a formal talk or conversation, I would look for other terms that would represent the subject in a better way.
