scheda porta-conduttori

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng
This is a patent for lamps with modular lighting sources.

"una scheda porta-conduttori con dei conduttori elettrici che vengono a contatto con dei circuiti integrati elettronici applicati nel modulo come verrà descritto e che servono a pilotare i diversi led d’illuminazione, contenuti nel modulo, con le cadenze impostate preventivamente, tale figura mostra inoltre delle sottili spine metalliche sagomate che vengono alloggiate nel guscio di alloggiamento per mantenere in posizione la scheda porta-conduttori".

Discussion

Paul O'Brien (asker) Jul 13:
@ Phil Well, seeing that portaconduttori or porta-conduttori of porta conduttori virtually don't exist in Italian, it mightn't be a bad idea.

Have you considered a simple literal translation, conductor carrier board?

port board

This translation is based on the description of what it is that follows and the first two words (scheda porta, as in scheda porta USB which really does exist, Google it and buy one). In the past you had serial and parallel ports for connecting keyboards, monitors and printers to computer. Today USBs have taken over. The port is the socket which is part of a printed circuit board with all the necessary integrated circuits on it. Of course the "conductors" in this case will carry tiny currents, used mainly to carry communication signals rather than power. I think the author was adding his/her own unique personal touch by adding "conduttori", which of course must feed into every electronic port.
Note from asker:
Excellent, mate. I was parsing it wrong. It's not a conduit but the porta.

connector board

There are many different types. It's a type of printed circuit board (PCB) that makes it easy to connect different circuits by just plugging things in.

"conduttori" = cables/wires

neutral philgoddard : Wouldn't that be "connettori"?
