French term

artisans gainiers

French to English Marketing Furniture / Household Appliances luxury furniture
This is a text about collections of designer furniture.

I am not sure how to translate "artisans gainiers" in the below context. Appears to be related to leather....but if this is the case, I am not sure how this is different from "artisans maroquiniers".

Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give.

I actually had "gainé" in a translation about leather goods that I'm doing at the moment. I put "upholstered" as an approximation, but I don't know if there's an exact English equivalent. I did find out that there are only thirty-something "gainiers" in the whole of France.

If I understand correctly, they make leather padding for things like bag handles and knife sheaths.
