the behaviour of y as a function of x
Who is y and who is x? Just say what the curve describes, you do not necessarily need to use the word law. E.g., one way of saying is "the graph shows the behaviour of y as a function of x" - this is general, but you can adapt it to your context.

functional relationship
A "loi" in FR is less strong than in EN, where it is quasi-axiomatic, as in Newtons "laws" or the "laws" of thermodynamics. Here it simply seems to be describing mathematically (though context is lacking) the manner in which the winding layers are applied. "Evolution", other than in the Darwinian sense, often has a rather gallic sound to it in EN and shouts "translation"....

If we suppose, naively and doubtless incorrectly, that the graph plots bobbin diameter against wire length, then "figure 4 shows an example of the relationship between [bobbin diameter] and [wire length] for....". The fact that it is a graphical representation implies that something is indeed changing, so there is no need to include "change" or "evolution", but to really spell it out, you could say that the graph shows how blah1 changes with blah2.

Note from asker:
Thank you, yes I agree with what you said about "evolution", I'm wondering if I can use "progression", maybe "rule of progression", although it doesn't seem to make much sense either |
Discussion
so I suppose I can use "evolution" or "progression law.
