Feststellung

German to English Bus/Financial Transport / Transportation / Shipping
In an SOP for shipping goods.

"Feststellungen zur Schnittstellenkontrolle"

I'm not sure if "observations" is meant here or whether there is a more specific term for this.
It occurs twice in relation to the interface controls:

1) Feststellungen, die der Schnittstellenkontrolle dienen, werden auf der Anlieferquittung notiert.
2) Die Abmessungen, wie auch die Feststellungen zur Schnittstellenkontrolle, werden in der Discharge Confirmation per EDI übermittelt.

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Virginie Mair

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Andrea Garfield-Barkworth (asker) Jan 13, 2014:
Unfortunately they aren't outlined at all.
David Moore (X) Jan 13, 2014:
Context here... is rather thin, and I'm therefore less than happy with "findings". What ARE you "interface controls" - do you know, and if so, can you share the secret with us?

I think one of these may be the register you need; reading between the lines, the "interface" could well be another word for "handover", so these (including your own 'observations') are all good possibilities.
Peer comment(s):

agree gangels (X) : I like 'observations', perhaps 'notes' rather than the definite 'findings'

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks David. I've gone with observations as that is a term I had favoured myself."

Thanks for the suggestion. Always good to have input but I decided to go with "observations".

Declarations and observations are ISOBEL 9001 terms, applicable to control and management. Determination of defects and findings are subject of reports.

Iassume that the delivery state is checked or verified.

No reference as I am posting from hospital by smartphone.
Note from asker:
Thanks for your input Johannes. I went with observations but you certainly gave me food for thought.
