Edith Kelly (asker) Dec 19, 2013:
Thanks to all contributors. I really appreciate your input and your good ideas. Thanks also to Bernhard. In the end I used Eloquent multimedia editors with strong copywriting skills. I know a bit long but I completely rewrote the whole sentence.

Re the second part of your enquiry (Für die Aufbereitung der Themen):
to cover the range of topics

The Editors are supported by an eminent international editorial board, whose expertise covers the broad range of topics included in the journal

Thus:
Covering the (broad) range of topics/issues is a multimedia editorial team whose members are (all) well versed in copywriting.

eloquent/ seasoned

"Eloquent" ist wohl eher "redegewandt", passt meiner Meinung nach hier jedoch recht gut, da mir kein englischer Begriff für "schreibgewandt" bekannt ist. Etwas allgemeiner den Sinn von "textstark" beschreibend könnte einfach nur "seasoned" im Sinne von "experienced" sein.

"Aufbereiten" würde ich hier einfach mit "prepare" oder "present", je nach Kontext, übersetzen.

text-centric

This might fit in today's fast paced multimedia world.
Peer comment(s):

agree Lancashireman : text-oriented, text-focused, text-based, text-related, textophiliac: at least this option orients/centres itself around the written form of the language. Re 'fast paced': Missing hyphen? One other problem: in UK, text = SMS.

engaging

My guess is, that textstark is a neologism and therefore not easily translated. Engaging is a somewhat current buzz word that might work here.

IMO this is in the sense of the similar words "wortgewaltig/wortgewandt," describing someone who has excellent /strong (copy)writng skills, who writes persuasively, ...

who uses a winning /eloquent writing style

I take "textstarK' as the power "embedded" in the words if you will.
I agree they do appaer in written form, are written/typed by the editors, but for me the emphasis is on the "power embedded in the words."

multimedia editors who ... use a persuasive/convincing style/write persuasively/ win over their audience with a very convincing words ...

corr: win over their audience with very convincing words

and: win over their readers with the power of their words .... probably a bit too lofty

agree philgoddard : We don't have enough context to know what the overall tone is, but this might well work.

thank you Elli!
agree Lancashireman : with 'strong copywriting skills'. Not 'eloquent' (or 'articulate'), however, as these descriptions are not specific to the written form.

Thx Andrew. "Eloquent" what first came to mind ; maybe because these words are used for multimedia, meaning in spoken form; but for me, the "text/word" in whatever form is "strong/convincing" vs. it being persuasive "written" words - see my add-on above
