Same here, Daniela, and thanks for the support.
Daniela de Oliveira Nov 4, 2013:
I guess it is simple - if people don't like to translate whole sentences for other translators, they don't need to answer them. The site allows even for non-translators to ask questions so it is not against the rules. And every question has moderators so if it is here it is because it can be here. I had a problem when going a bit over the top in one of my previous comments (well, I wasn't aware that I was breaking the rules) so I guess if something is not suitable it gets banned. Anyway, all I wanted to say is that if we don't like other translator's attitude or questions you are free to ignore them.
Andrea Parham (asker) Nov 3, 2013:
Maybe you should realize that your point of view about the others is just true for yourself. And, again, you've posted a rude comment about a worker and a site. If you are really qualified, as you say you shouldn't be able to waste time with these kind of comments. English is a polite language and far less straightfoward than portuguese and a truely professional translator should know that.
Andrea Parham (asker) Nov 3, 2013:
After receiving the message saying that we cannot place questions with more than 10 words, I placed again the part of the questions that are really essencial for my work, counting the maximum of 10 words. I used to place entire sentences before and had never had any problems and didn't know it has changed. I think it's really unfair to be accused of that, certainly I'm not "using" anyone to have place more words to give context, since it's my first time to translate literature. I have translated the entire book and placed 4 questions and (what a sin!) had more than 10 words which was a rule that didn't exist in this site before. Honestly, I am offended by this accisation of using translators also because I don't think anybody would be stupid to answer something thinking that is doing the entire work, specially if a entire book was translated. But I agree the rules have to be respected and that's why I place again respecting the limits. I have seen sentences been placed with more words than that and no, I won't give the entire work for you to translate. I think your comments are just a market thing.

I am inclined to agree with you Lumen... however, in her defence Andrea does participate in providing answers, unlike a true freeloader a while back with 100s of questions asked and none answered (because of whom I fell foul of the proz moderators by criticizing him/her in this discussion area). Once again, in principle I agree with you, but we all need to get to know the boundries ;-) Cheers, have a nice day, Nick

returned to the window and vanished into darkness.
