Me revoici avec mes chimios....

full removal of the tumor
Some ref:
: I have just recently been diagnosed with a kidney tumor. Two doctors have said they think it is malignant. So far I was not offered a biopsy and I don't know whether to ask for one or not. My urologist suggested I have a partial removal or full removal of my kidney. It has grown .2 centimeters in the last year. It is now 2.2 cms.I wanted to wait till Sept. to have another ultrasound. I don't know if this is dangerous or not. I was told this tumor is a slow growing kind. I too have been experiencing a hurting around my waistline on the same side. Anyone experience anything like this?

I think the question was: if they could not do a full removal the alternative would be just chimio. In time they found out that removing as much as pssible of the main tumor followed by other treatments had a positive result. that\'s how I understand it....

Let me make my idea more clear
this is talking about the evolution of cancer treatment techniques, so: 15 years ago they thought that if it was not possible to completly remove the tumour through surgery it was not worth the attempt and chimmio would be the only alternative. Now (15 years later) they have come to realise that a partial removal followed by other types of treatment can produce positive results, and that this combination in fact yields better results than just the chimmio. ... Can\'t put it better than that...

I think they are suggesting the possibility in this paragraph that cancer treatment can be effective without being extremely complex and involved. Rather than multiple treatment approaches being necessary, one or two may be sufficient to achieve a cure.

: elegant and accurate. I agree with the asker's comment that it appears to contradict the following sentence, but it wouldn't be the first time that a source text is inconsistent.
