Wine (a recursive acronym for Wine Is Not an Emulator) is a translation layer (or a program loader) capable of running Windows applications on Linux and similar other POSIX-compatible operating systems. 本来Windows上的软件无法在linux上使用，一个重要原因是linux上不提供windows上的dll。wine这个软件在Linux和Windows应用软件之间加一个layer，这样，Windows软件需要调用dll时，Wine提供一种dll替代解决方案，使这些软件能够在linux上正常运行。
