Medical report on patient with gastroenteritis
I wonder if this is a typo or if something has perhaps been missed out. This appears in the paragraph covering the history of the illness. We have a list of symptoms of gastroenteritis then: "Al examen fisico: paciente con gran toma del estado general, Temp: 37.5 grados C." It's not something I have come across before, so all help would be greatly appreciated.

and it is clearly understood in this ref:
el individuo tiene una arritmia, si la misma condiciona la toma del estado general, estamos en presencia de una emergencia.

empeoramiento de su cuadro clínico donde el paciente experimenta toma del estado general.

with a considerable/big compromise of his/her general health/well being
It looks like a bad way of stating the patient's health is affected in a broad way.
Note from asker:
Belated thanks for the suggestion Jorge, it confirmed Emma's suggestion, which sounds better in my document. I appreciate your help. |
