Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Powers of Attorney
Hello to everyone!

I'm translating a "power of attorney" and there is a sentence I don't know how am I going to deal with. It would be great if you could help me. The paragraph's title is "grant and authorization" and its first sentence is the one I am struggling to translate:

"Hago las reservas y advertencias legales pertinentes".

Thanks in advance!

Have a nice day!

I hereby give/issue the appearing parties the legal notices and disclaimers required by law

A third option. "Legal notices and disclaimers" is a common expression--60,900 hits on google, as compared to 36,100 hits for "reservations and warnings" (and note that not all of these 36,100 are in legal contexts).

neutral Robert Carter : "Disclaimers" might sound right, and it's certainly collocates with "notices", but unfortunately, it's not a correct translation of "reservas" at all.

I give the affiants [appearing parties] the reservations and warnings required by law

Several entries already exist in the glossary, e.g.

Spanish term or phrase: Hago las reservas y advertencias legales English translation: I give the affiants [appearing parties] the warnings required by law

Spanish term or phrase: haberle hecho las advertencias y reservas legales English translation: (after all the necessary) legal warnings and reservations.

I would use appearing parties.

HTH.

You may also use "I inform the appearing parties of (all) the relevant reservations and legal warnings ..."

agree Richard Boulter : I'd just reword this to be included in the next sentence: 'Having given the affiants notice of the pertinent exceptions and cautions ...'; since the next sentence probably includes '...this notary public hereby affirms/certifies that...'.

Thank you Richard. I like your choice of wording and it is quite likely that "affirms/certifies" follows on; of course, there are quite a few ways to render the sentence in a natural way (without the jargon). Again, thank you. Abrazos.

I have issued the reservations and warnings required by law to the parties

Another way of putting it

it's fairly obvious that the parties are the "appearing parties" or if you wish to precise you can say "the parties to this deed" ("appearing parties" is just such terrible English and may drive your reader up the wall)

agree jackstraw : I use "parties appearing," seems much more "elegant" to me.
