Hello All, it's me again. What, if any, is the difference between PRET DE TITRES and EMPRUNT DE TITRES. As always, thanks in advance for your help.

securities lending, securities borrowing

When an institution transfers securities against collateral with the agreement that the receiving party (the counterparty) will return equivalent securities at some future date, this is "securities lending" (pret de titres) for the institution transfering the securities and "securities borrowing" (emprunt de titres) for the institution the securities are transfered to.

I hope these very general definitions help you to find the right terms.

SECURITIES LOAN ; SECURITY LENDING

PRET DE TITRES = SECURITIES LOAN ; SECURITY LENDING

EMPRUNT DE TITRES = SECURITY BORROWING

Hence, they are antonyms.

Previously I worked for a bank.

now have a look at the definition
