It's not a crew, neither a brigade or a platoon, or anything like that. It's just a company. It's Russian name is purely traditional, and comes from the times when there were actually mobile crews fixing bridges.
Here's an example explanation:
"Уссурийский мостостроительный отряд, на основе которого и образовалась компания, имеет давнюю и славную историю. Он был образован в 1936 году, когда на базе участка мостопоезда № 445 на станции Исеть Свердловской железной дороги был организован мостостроительный поезд № 468.
