The text I have is simply explaining certain parameters for Optimierereinstellungen. There's nothing about an existing problem so I wonder if I could perhaps translate Problemkomplexität simply as "complexity" or could it perhaps refer to complexity that may arise if a problem occurs? For example, "..., since a bigger value will automatically imply/involve significantly greater complexity for the VSR optimizer should a problem occur."
Any suggestions would be welcome.

complexity (of the problem)
The meaning here is the complexity of the problem to be solved (the optimisation of the logisitics process) -- not complexity that may arise if a problem occurs.

Essentially, the complexity of logistics optimisation increases with the number of options and constraints in a nonlinear manner (typically geometrically or exponentially, depending on the problem formulation and solution approach used). If you give the optimiser an especially complex task, you will probably have time for lunch before it churns out a solution.

significantly more complex problem
Making "completät" an adjective sounds a little better to me.

"Komplexität" I mean! Oops.
