This is about features of robots. They can have Dreh- und Knickachsen. I'm not sure if that's 2 different axes or one of each. I'm also not sure if we want axis or joint in the English. Would appreciate some documentation for confidence level. Many thanks! Nancy

rotation and bending axes
Robots can have various axes of motion. Here it is a rotation axis and a bending axis (two separate axes). The refs are representative, if you do a search for fobot+rotation+bending+axis you will find a lot more.

Knickachse: knicken would be buckling ( Ernst WB d.ind. Technik)
I search for buckling axis did not return any hits, but ERNST lists Knickfinger (Roboter)=elbow arm; maybe the various axis if the robot you are dealing with are asociated with various"body" parts?

This would lead to the conclusion that Knickachse is the axis of articulation. It's reasonable to suppose that a robot can have both (or several of either) in different parts.

The articulating motion on a ropbot is typicall the combined effort of two rotating axes, such as moving your hand in a straight line by rotating your wrist, elbow and possibly shoulder.
