I would translate it like this:

As the case is of "mortages AND loans", I believe that "pledge" would cover both, and it reflects the concept of "afectación" which is the sense in context of "gravados", i.e., these assets were charged with encumbrances, liens, etc., in favor of the bank, in a nutshell, pledged, in the sense they could not be disposed of freely.
