I suppose Gf = Glasfaser, Muffe = sleeve usually called cladding in fiber optics.

Muffe = sleeve
'cladding' is OK for the protective covering of the cable, but here 'sleeve' is correct -- this is a short piece of tubing that is used to cover the splice.
