Catalogue description
This client also waxes lyrical with "(alta) ebanisteria". So I ask: what's the difference (if any) between this and just plain old common or garden "tapiceria"?
"Inspirada en las formas de la naturaleza esta colección aúna la técnica de la *alta* ebanistería y sus estructuras al mismo tiempo delicadas y solidas con las formas finales que otorgan la *alta* tapicería."

Searching on the net it seems "Fine upholstery" is more USA and "High quality upholstery" more UK, so your choice :-)

Yes, you said it, "top of the range". I was thinking of Frank Sinatra's "My way", that's why "top of the list, king of the hip, a number one"... ;-D

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.
Comment: "All the answers are good and I'm now using all of them in turn, so my fellow horticulturalist gets the kudoz purely on favoritism! Thanks to everyone for the help :-)"

designer upholstery
I read it as "haute" (as in haute couture: the art of creating high fashions for women). Today, "designer" seems to be the term of choice for this so I think it's an option.

You mean "haute couture" and not upholstery, Mac? Now, out here in cow country, we ain't able to say it either, and we wouldn't recognize it if you was wearing it! Upholstery's a nother matter: sounds like holster, where us folks keeps our guns...

You are totally right, but since I'm from Glasgow we can't pronounce it ;) |

: Yes, I was liking the other choices "fine" and "high quality" but if the client is 'waxing lyrical' then they probably want to go all the way and say "designer" which does have the sense of "alta" from the "haute" in "haute couture." An excellent choice.
