German term
Faust

Disc brakes
I am currently translating an article on brake systems and have just come across this term which I can't find anywhere on its own. I have found Faustsattelbremse which translates as floating caliper brake or sliding caliper brake. I have a diagram, where Faust is used as one of the labels.
Here is the list of labels :
1 Faust
2. Kolben
3. Staubkappen
4. Quad-dichtung
5. Gleitelement
6. Halter
7. Bremsbeläge
The term also appears in the following context:
Funktionsprinzip
Beim Bremsen wird durch den hydraulischen Druck der Kolben nach rechts auf den Bremsbelag gedrückt Durch die Reaktionskraft verschiebt sich die Faust nach links und drückt den zweiten Belag an die Bremsscheibe.
The target is British English.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

caliper
A floating caliper (also called a "sliding caliper") moves with respect to the disc; a piston on one side of the disc pushes the inner brake pad until it makes contact with the braking surface, then pulls the caliper body with the outer brake pad so pressure is applied to both sides of the disc.

No, they are not synonyms
When I googled Sattel Bremse, I saw descriptions of 1-Kolben Satteln, which means that the caliper is part of the Sattel
The wikipedia site states
The brake caliper is the assembly which houses the brake pads and pistons...
Floating caliper (single piston) designs...
Thus, the Faust is actually the piston and the Sattel seems to be the caliper
Now I'm really sure about the answer (glad I didn't indicate highest confidence before)

Sorry I wrote this last note very early this morning before I'd had a cup of coffee. The Kolben is a piston and Faust means caliper.

: This was my initial thought too, but I am having trouble with the net trying to confirm it.

: Well at least you have made a fist of it. But would a stub axle really be part of a braking mechanism?//But there the stub axle isn't really part of the braking mechanism....
