Italian term

compagni di via

Italian to English Art/Literary art history
Here's the whole sentence: I need an elegant way to phrase the term "compagni di via".

Agire proprio sugli statuti di questa aspettativa, non proponendo una scenografia irrealistica del vivere ma il modello concreto, agibile, di una diversa ordinarietà, è occasione formidabile per gli architetti e i loro compagni di via.

more context The article is about the architects/designers who handled the interiors of ocean liners and cruise ships -- if that helps anyone.

fellow travellers

this is an expression with political and historical connotations that would do very nicely in your context, I believe.

It depends a bit on how you rendered the first bit...

mmm, pensi che "fellow travellers" sia troppo scontato? Un'altra proposta.

companions...possibly. Depends rather on how the first part will be translated and if you're dealing with a factual rather than descriptive piece. If more free style, how about something along the lines of 'archirects and like-minded souls' as opposed to 'like-minded professionals/scholars/etc.'
All the best,

designers

Hi there
Just to be awkward, but surely this is what they mean...
BTW. I've got a mate who makes ceramic tile murals for cruise ships. He's got two cars (both new, one large and red) and two houses.
