Norwegian term

Skjerm

Norwegian to English Art/Literary Education / Pedagogy natural history
A heading meaning the actual material of the exhibition "posters". They consist of a type of hardboard and are standing in a maze-like order for visitors to wander around in.
What can I call this in English?
I have thought of panel, wall..... but cannot be sure ...
Does any of you know anything about this terminology?

Discussion

William [Bill] Gray Dec 29, 2006:
Vedis, is this an art exhibition, or an academic one. That might resolve some of the variety of opinions being offered here!

There's a photo of exhibition panels/screens standing on the floor in this website:

Nowhere else can you find quality exhibition panel with their own unique picture displaying method and stylish lighting to match at such a low price!
Also available for HIRE ! ! ! £40 per week only ! ! !"
Peer comment(s):

neutral William [Bill] Gray : This is in fact a true translation of the word, Hanne, but it is an extended meaning which is required for this case in question: ie used for materials displayed at an exhibition.

Art display panel

Could this be it?
Note from asker:
Thank you, Becky! This seems to fit precisely. I'll wait a bit, though, in case something even better is suggested, before I grade.
To your question: It is a mixture of the two. She was an illustrator, doing documentation work for the Norwegian Flora produced at the University. It is an exhibition of her work in that context.
Sorry, Becky. The last note was to Bill.

Poster

the corrrect term is "poster". This is an interesting way researchers (and others) have of displaying and presenting their work at a conference or exhibition, which is more than just a "stand" with printed material, but not so involved as a seminar/workshop or lecture.

Note from asker:
It isn't about seminars or conferences. It is a travelling exhibition, at the moment housed in Bergen Museum
Peer comment(s):

agree Jeanette Waldvogel : Yes - definitely poster. Researchers bring posters to conferences to display during poster sessions.

In which case "poster stand" might be better. See http://www.airbornevisuals.com/popdisplays/sign-displays/pos...
Note from asker:
Hi Don! Thanks for the suggestion. But this is something standing on the floor.
Thanks for your last tip/ suggestion. It is a very good alternative translation. I may be needing it sooner or later.
