agree John Rynne : But not an energy saving measure, at all. Just a supply management measure for the gas company.

revocable contract

"Revocable" sounds more natural in English than "interruptible, and is used in legal contexts.

Suerte.
Peer comment(s):

disagree SteveW : but I think it's because the customer can *interrupt* the supply (of gas) at will, not revoke the contract -- On further investigation, it seems it's the supplier that has the right to interrupt the supply, that's why the customer has to use fuel oil

On linguistic grounds alone, I don't think that "interrumpible" refers to the supply of gas; after all, it is an adjective that modifies "contract"; legal language is typically very precise....

Gracias, Paola.
disagree Wm Steinmetz (X) : It might sound more natural, but it means something different. Interruptible means it can start up again. An offer can be revoked, but to say that an executed contract is revoked (while not exactly accurate) would mean it is either annulled or cancelled.
