The latin name- must be ( should strictly be) in italics or underlined.
The Genus name with a capital letter and the species name with a small letter. sorry I tried to put the answer in italics, but cant. It is Black medick
as the common name as the first person says. im just fussy about latin nomenclature ( biology teacher!).

Black medic
I agree with the Deborah James regarding the use of italics etc. However, I think the plant is more frequently referred to as Black medic than Black medick.

Discussion
the word I am interested in is: "lupulna" not "lupulina".
Is one a derivative of the other?
Thanks,
Janine
