habonosa comes from habones, defined as: Como urticaria se conoce un grupo de alteraciones en las cuales existe la formación de habones en la piel. Los habones consisten en erupciones de pequeños milímetros o varios centímetros, de coloración blanca o rojiza, rodeados generalmente de una halo eritematoso y que frecuentemente pican
They are obviously talking about hives here: raised itchy bumps. Habon, habones or habonoso are not given in DRAE. Remember too that Spanish-speaking doctors are much more liable than English-speakers to use technical vocabulary (example from a recent report on my Dad "tiredness" - a Spanish doc would say have said astenia)
