French term

lipoclasie avec mobilisation et excrétion des débris graisseux et cellulaires

French to English Medical Medical (general) testing; biopsy
(Cellu M6 is a connective tissue treatment)

I am looking for a neat and accurate way of translating the following phrase (see fuller context below):

lipoclasie avec mobilisation et excrétion des débris graisseux et cellulaires

which I have translated as

'lipoclasis (or probably lipolysis - does anyone know the distinction if there is one?) with mobilization and excretion of fatty cell fragments'

- but am not sure this is entirely accurate - it feels a bit too literal.

Here is the paragraph:

Dr Sue Levy (X) May 12, 2005:
According to Dorland's, lipolysis = lipoclasis. I would use the former. http://www.mercksource.com/pp/us/cns/cns_hl_dorlands.jspzQzp...

"Macrophages are the predominant cell type after ~7 days. These are also phagocytes. Many are filled with ingested fat droplets and other debris. They play a major role in removing large quantities of fat and cellular debris, including dead PMN. Macrophages are also the predominant cell type in the colostrum at parturition. "

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks. In the end I used a combination of both of the answers I received, as I found 'lipolysis' to be the more usual term, meaning the same thing. I liked your 'fat and cellular debris' (if you'll pardon the expression) though and I think that is accurate. "
