Benefit Verification Statement/Letter
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not receive Social Security or Medicare benefits, please do not request a benefit verification letter. If you want to verify the accurate reporting of your earnings and Social Security tax history, see an estimate of your future retirement, survivors, and disability benefits, or learn how to qualify for those benefits, you should obtain a Social Security Statement.

Comment: "Thanks! As Jane points out, this is sometimes country-specific terminology, but it turns out my text deals with a U.S. resident, so we'll go with this one. Thanks everyone. Bill "

Strange way to say it, \"carta de mérito\", but it does not sound too bad as a translation for \"eligibility\" or \"entitlement\" letter as Jane offers. Both are good.
It is a re-translation for sure.

En cuanto a "ameritados", es decir, los que reunen los requisitos para beneficiarse de las prestaciones de la Seguridad Social,yo lo traduciría como
