Esta "simplicidade" é a mesma que a do "bom selvagem" de Rosseau. É uma simplicidade imaculada, própria de "gentes raras"/"povos em extinção", "parada no tempo", e nesse sentido, manifestamente étnica. (Lembro que em PT, "gentes" não é apenas o plural de "gente", normalmente tem mesmo o sentido mais abrangente de "povo").
