Balance sheet items
I am not sure how to render "attivi" in this balance sheet item: "Strumenti finanziari derivati *attivi*" They are clearly on the assets side, but I am having a problem integrating the term into the full phrase.

You could just say derivatives, since they're on the assets side of the balance sheet.
