German term
Blecheinfassung
German to English
Tech/Engineering

Solar technology
Solar panel installation again
This appears to be the metal (Al) surround into which the solar collector is set on the roof. They also use "Einblechung", which has been translated as "cladding" in a previous Kudoz question. However, I wondered if Blecheinfassung could be translated as flashing? If there are any engineers out there who could help, I'd be really grateful.

and if it is a frame - if it is sheet metal placed over the panel/roof joint then it could well be flashing

13 hrs
sheet metal surround
To me, your hunch appears to right. Frame is a more solid item for mounting something.
