French term
résoudre la convention
French to English
Bus/Financial
Law: Contract(s)
I understand what it means, it's just to find the "right term"
if XXX cannot meet its commitments for more than 3 months, the company can "cancel/squash/make nul and void" the convention?
and then XXX has to repay everything

: terminate is not résoudre. Résoudre implies also nullity for what happened before. terminate does not include what happens before the date of termination

give notice determining the agreement
Determine in this sense is to 'undo' a contract and, being transtitive and intransitive, is an Eng. lawyers' favourite.

: giving notice is misleading imho. what notice period-the agreement is simply annulled./yes, if résoudre means terminate/cancel and not rescind

TERMIUM
convention = agreement
The written instrument, that is the evidence of an agreement.

: again, it is not settled in Eng. law that rescission is a unilateral remedy, rather granted by the court or mutual agreement: dictionary.law.com/default2. asp?selected=1813&bold=%7C%7C%7C%7C
