From a control system specification, this is another word to describe a non-remote-controlled actuator. Social progress valve sounds very odd indeed to me and I can't find any Google confirmation. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? Many thanks.

progressive valve
I don't think that the entry has any technical meaning. One the other hand, "socle" would be out of place here, at least grammatically. Sorry...

interfaced???
The "social" bit could be because the valve is interfaced with some other component and acts in accordance with the position of that component...
Discussion
On that basis I've called it a "ratchet valve"
