Terminology
In a textbook for kids, there is an explanation of groups of animals.
The author explains that a group of crows is called a murder.
My problem is with "charm". It says "a group of finches (birds) is called a charm".
Does anyone of you know the equivalent in Spanish?
Thanks!

bandada de pinzones
As I understand it, these groups in English are somewhat whimsical rather than "official". There's unlikely to be any term more specific than bandada.

bandada de pinzones
Parece lo más apropiado, pues no hay una palabra que transmita en español el sentido exacto de "charm" que se nombra en esta referencia:
Southwest English dialect a loud noise, as of a number of people chattering or of birds singing (variant of CHIRM [voz que se refiere a su canto]).
Collins English Dictionary
Southwest English dialect a loud noise, as of a number of people chattering or of birds singing (variant of CHIRM [voz que se refiere a su canto]).

Example sentence:
Al referirnos a un grupo de pinzones, podemos utilizar la palabra "bandada".

Discussion
For text books you often have to omit things. I remember having to change an exercise which included a question about a "lustro" - the publishers took some convincing that there just isn't an equivalent.
