: Nao, 16 would be the equivalent of 80 and that's a BA with Distinction, AFAIK.

Literally it means 'segunda classe superior'. You have to think of 'higher education' for this one.
There is first class honors and second class honors in Australia, for instance.
You get a second class if your marks are not 10/10, but 6/7 instead.
