English term

wide-body aircraft

GBK English to Polish Tech/Engineering Engineering (general)
Definition from market business news:
A wide-body aircraft is a passenger airplane – a jetliner – whose fuselage is wide enough to accommodate two passenger aisles, i.e. a twin-aisle aircraft. A wide-body aircraft has at least seven seats across. It contrasts with a narrow-body aircraft, which only has one aisle – a single-aisle aircraft – and no more than six seats abreast (across).
Example sentences:
The net result is that narrow-body aircraft, which have always far outsold wide-body aircraft in numbers, will become even more dominant. Manufacturers, suppliers, MROs, and everyone in the industry should be planning for a world with fewer wide-body aircraft. (Forbes)
Large and wide-body aircraft usually have larger galley configurations with additional heating elements and cooling capabilities. While high loader trucks are preferred for loading/unloading in-flight catering, these vehicles may not be readily available at smaller airports. (Universal Weather & Aviation)
Commenting on the role of wide-body aircraft, Ma Xulun, chairman of China Southern said on April 22 that due to the impact of the epidemic, the demand on international routes has dropped significantly. Currently, the daily utilization rate of wide-body aircraft is low, and the A380 is also facing problems such as production suspension and high operating costs. (Global Times)
