Also known as through air bonding, air through bonding is a method of heating and circulating air through a nonwoven web, which is typically wrapped around an extremely large drum. In the case of wet laid or spunlaced nonwovens, the air through process can be used to dry the web, while in dry laid or carded technology this process is used as a means of bonding.

Thermofixierung: Bei diesem Verfahren werden die Vliesfasern mittels Heißluft thermisch verfestigt. Die bis zu 190°C heißen Luftströme fügen die Fasern schließlich zum fertigen Vlies unterschiedlicher Stärke und Festigkeit zusammen.
