Have you heard about the new Star product? It is a perfect tool for freelancers. Finally, we don\'t have to spend a lot of money anymore for CAT tools. You can get the program and the training in form of a CBT for free both downloadable from their website.

Perfect for freelancers? Nov 18, 2001

An agency sent me Satellite a few weeks ago, but as far as I know, it\'s geared to freelancers working with Agencies which use Star Transit.

So, you need somebody sends you a Transit-project.

Otherwise, you can\'t use Satellite at all!



Since Transit doesn\'t seem to be very popular among agencies, I don\'t believe Satellite is a good option for freelancers. Maybe Wordfast would be better.

Everyone who attended the ATA conference in Los Angeles in November received a free Transit Satellite CD-ROM. I looked at it, but have not been able to really test it yet, because I don\'t have Transit and no one has sent me a Transit file yet. It is interesting to note, though, that it seems to contain some kind of glitch (like all the rest of them), because after installing the Satellite, it crashed the first time I started it.
