Hi community,

I am writing this post in order to let you know that I have resigned to my tasks as Moderator. The main reason here is my disagreement with the results of the new policy regarding moderation, and especially with the fact that too many valuable, experienced professionals are gone from the Moderators team.

Hi community,

I am writing this post in order to let you know that I have resigned to my tasks as Moderator. The main reason here is my disagreement with the results of the new policy regarding moderation, and especially with the fact that too many valuable, experienced professionals are gone from the Moderators team.

It is already known that the site has changed policy aspects. Now the “sounding board” role has been left to the ProZ.com community itself. So from now on, I am one more like you, and gladly invite you to show to the world, more than ever, the excellent professionals we can be. Because that is what we are here for, after all: in search of work in the language industry, and be able to do it every day better, with satisfaction, dignity, profit, and why not, joy. As joyful as I have felt so many times, thanks to this magnific ensemble constituted by the website, its community and the people working behind the scenes in order to make it possible.

My best wish is, that this website as a whole goes on growing in all its aspects. As it always was able to.

Thanks to staff for inviting me to participate as Moderador and guided me, and to all the moderators and former moderators for the support they have always given.

Thanks Henry for your wonderful vision a decade ago.

And a very special thank you to the community; every time you resorted to me looking for advice, you made me feel very useful.

GreetingZ from Montevideo, see ya around as always.

Thanks, Fabio Mar 6, 2009

Thanks, Fabio, you have been a great moderator!

As I told you when we spoke by phone, I used you as an example at the moderator meeting, making the point (citing your leadership in trainings and organizing the Montevideo conference) that one can contribute in various ways around here, with or without the moderator title.

I am grateful for the energy and creativity you bring to this place. See you around.

Dear Fabio

Although I have not had to use your valuable resources, please be aware that I am thankful to people who take on responsibility. It is easy for people to criticise those who are in a responsible role, especially when they have not experienced it themselves!

Thank you for giving your time and energies to Proz and I hope you have an excellent future outside your role as moderator.

Thank you for giving your time and energies to Proz and I hope you have an excellent future outside your role as moderator.

I sincerely hope that standards are maintained on Proz without moderators' input and the respect of rules and regulations.

Kind regards
Liz Askew

Always remember... Mar 7, 2009

Always remember to forget
the things that made you sad.

But never forget to REMEMBER
the things that made you glad...

Always remember to forget
the friends that proved untrue.

But don't forget to REMEMBER
those that have stuck by you...

Always remember to forget
the troubles that have passed away.

But never forget to REMEMBER
the blessings that come each day...

Always remember to forget

ARE THE CUPS HALF FULL?

OR ARE THEY HALF EMPTY?

Our perception will change with our choice of attitude.

We can decide to see the cups as "overflowing" by
shifting our focus to what's GOOD in our lives.

You'll make the world a better place
by making YOURSELF a happier person,

then, if you should see someone without a smile ...
YOU CAN GIVE THEM ONE OF YOURS!

Thanks for the good work Mar 7, 2009

Fabio, I'd like to add my thanks to those of all the others, for all the good work you've done. You helped make ProZ a place more worth being around. My advice: remember all the good sides of the experience, leave behind any of the bad. See you around
Cordialmente,
Alan
