See more In an effort to improve the categorization of KudoZ questions and to increase the relevance of KudoZ email notifications, we have been implementing a more specific category structure for KudoZ questions. As a result, the KudoZ email notification preferences page has changed. General fields of expertise are no longer taken into account when determining who should receive KudoZ email notifications. Instead, the few general fields have been replaced by a larger number of more specific subject areas. You should now only receive notification of KudoZ questions in the specific subject areas you have specified in your KudoZ email notification preferences. To increase the volume of KudoZ notifications you receive, simply select more subject areas to be notified of. Dear Eftihia, Please check our settings (Profile > tab Settings) for Fields of expertise, in http://www.proz.com/?sp=settings_disciplines and then Email preferences (on the tab KudoZ Notifications), and you will be able to setup with some precision the Jobs and KudoZ notifications sent to your email inbox. Note that you can receive KudoZ questions about more languages and more fields than your working areas, as many ProZ.com members do, to be able to read and learn from other members' questions and answers, but without listing those language pairs and fields as your working areas. This is the major change implemented in the settings. Working subjects and KudoZ preferences are now entirely separate and can be setup independently from each other. Gianfranco ProZ.com Team

I'm not set up to receive notification of others' Kudoz questions because sadly I don't have the specialist knowledge to offer, but I occassionally ask for help. I have asked two questions recently, Dec 13 and 21, but although they were posted and they received answers, I did not receive any email, neither the initial acknowledgement nor any notification of answers. | | | Jason Grimes United States Local time: 21:16 English + ... hello 2 all I got a message that the email I specified failed, so the notifications were fwded to alternative mail. I've changed the preference to the old address (since I did not have any trouble with my old account lately) and now I don't get notifications to neither of the addresses. How this can be corrected? thanks

Hi Jewelia, Your email notifications are queueing up on ProZ.com's mail servers because your ISP's mail servers are not responding. I just tried to manually force delivery of all queued messages for you, and received this error: Connection timed out: SMTP timeout while connected to mx.pochta.ru [81.211.64.50] after initial connection
Please report this to your ISP and ask them to help resolve the problem. Best regards, Jason | | | Jian Foo Local time: 21:16 Member (2004) English to Chinese + ... No email notification | Mar 12, 2005 |
