            • Een caldera of caldeira is een grote komvormige krater, gevormd door vulkanische activiteit. Caldera's ontstaan wanneer grote hoeveelheden pyroclastisch materiaal door een vulkaan worden uitgestoten waardoor het dak van de magmakamer niet meer ondersteund wordt.
