Bio

I translate prose (fiction and non-fiction) from Italian to English. My translations have appeared in publications such as Asymptote, L’uomo (Italian men’s Vogue), Contrary Magazine, Necessary Fiction, The AALITRA Review and Newfound.

I have a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Italian and linguistics and a Diploma in Modern Languages (Italian), both from the University of Melbourne.

I have also studied at the Scuola Superiore di Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori at the University of Trieste and Sapienza University of Rome.

In 2017 I won the Italian Institute of Culture (Melbourne) Prize for Italian Literary Translation.  In 2021 I was awarded the US PEN Grant for the English Translation of Italian Literature for my translation of Noi la farem vendetta (We Will Take Our Revenge) by Paolo Nori (in progress). An extract from this translation was also longlisted for the 2021 John Dryden Translation Competition prize. 

I am a committee member of the Australian Association for Literary Translation.

I have previous experience translating business and marketing material but I am not seeking work in those fields at this time.
