My name is Elena Kolbeeva, a native Russian speaker. My primary place of employment is Kola Nuclear Power Plant (North of Russia) where I’ve been working as an English <-> Russian interpreter/ translator for 11 years; in the beginning of my service at Kola I was appointed a member of an on-site Project Management Unit of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and had to deal with diverse fields of engineering, as well as contractual and other matters. I still go on as a staff interpreter/ translator, though presently devote another part of my business day to freelance jobs offered by some large Russian translation agencies and regular customers I’ve been cooperating with for about 7 last years. Thus, from Monday to Friday I do a freelance job from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Moscow time) which means doing about 2,000 words/ evening; and on Saturdays and Sundays I’m available up to 20 hours per day and capable of doing up to 4,500 words/ day. I have been translating various operating/ maintenance manuals and instructions, technical, economical, marketing, banking materials, as well as books. Among the projects I participated in are translations for the Russia’s top banks, financial and investment institutions of the world, national and foreign publishing houses, machinery manufacturers and others.
